Jason, I try to get to that show at least once a year. From Valley Center, it should take you about 3 hours to get to. It takes about 5 hours of fast walking to go through the show once. You will see just about any type of firearm ever made and all sorts of accesories and ammo. The show doesn't have the deals that I used to see a number of years ago, but it is still worth going to. You won't be disappointed. 11 acres of firearms!

I go to both shows every year since Tulsa is just a little over an hour away.
If you don't get there at the crack of dawn, you will park far away. Use the free shuttle service, which is really good, and bring some tote bags to hold your new goodies since getting back to your car can be difficult.
Be prepared to wait 30 to 45 minutes in the ticket line during the first few hours of the show. Usually there's no wait in the afternoon.
This is definitely an "all day" show at minimum. Don't plan any other activities and get there early. Even after walking the show all day, you still won't have a good idea what's there. Yes... it's that big.
Even so... it's pretty easy to walk the aisles and look at things without falling over the crowd thanks to good planning and layout.
Bring lots of money because many rare expensive guns show up. If you're looking for something, you'll find it. You may not like the price... but you'll find it.

I went this last spring. It was an eye-opener and very worth the time. Wear comfortable shoes. If you want something to eat the food there sucks and is expensive. But hey it is that or leave and get something you have in your car. I LOVED the show. I got alot of neat bayonets and a carry purse and 3 holsters. GUNS and more GUNS. Everthing you can imagine. HIGH priced but just to see the neat guns is worth the trip.

It's just plain crazy-huge.

Dallas has a huge one at Market Hall a few times a year.
I have not been in a few years but I'm going to the next one.
I need to start getting some reloading starting as I have and know nothing about it yet. I do know its too expensive to shoot the store bought stuff!

Market Hall is my favorite local show.... been thinking of doing some selling there. I've looked at the one in Tulsa, and me and a buddy will probably make the trip just for fun.
Firearms are fun, but I really don't go to gun shows for the ambience. I go for the good deals or when I've got a couple hundred bucks and a hankerin for something new.
So far, I've bought an XD 9mm 4" for $450, and a remington 870 for $250 at gun shows locally... both from the same shop. After cruising the local shows, I ran into one fella neo-nazi fella selling tattoo patterns and swastica bandanas and flags, a few goofball knife dealers and a fella selling zippo lighter knock off's with ridiculous patterns like naked girl illustrations for $5.
Of the two local guns shows I've been to, I'd say they really bring out an element that I'm not at all interested in. The TULSA show website says that they don't allow many vendors who aren't gun related.... I wish the shows in Wichita followed the same ideas, where it's about the hobby rather than the organizer making whatever rent money he can for a 6 foot table.
I refuse to take my wife to these shows. She's interested in the sport and I'd like her to have her pick of shotgun and Lord knows there's plenty to pick from a good sized show, but I don't want her to think that this hobby has anything to do with naked women on lighters or white supremacy. It's a sad sad deal for the 2nd amendment when these sort of things are combined into a "gun show"
In fact, I'm so repulsed by these creatures that I think I'm going to just buy from shops and friends from here on out.

At the Spring show in Tulsa I didn't any fantastic deals but if you needed it it was probably there somewhere. I was there Sunday and one thing that struck me was even though the crowd was very dense you did not see the type of clueless rudeness you would expect to see at one of those "mall" places.
If you are coming to Tulsa from the Northeast leave time to make a visit to this place, more neat stuff to0 look at and a whole lot cheaper...
