Bit Me: A story of the end of the world

damn you!

Ok, first off: "hopes" is spelled "hops", and Budweiser (any variant) doesn't have any, as near as I can tell. :)

Second: ok, now the story is getting weird. :)

Third: for a serial story, some things are starting to get a little unclear due to the infrequency of their mention - ie, the postman. I don't remember anything about the postman, though I do remember the dream. The reference to the nature of the body is unclear unless you've just read the part about it, meaning someone like me (who's got a lot of different, new stuff to remember on a daily basis, and forgets things pretty easily to begin with) probably has to go back and read it over again. :)

Keep it up! You're doing what 99% of other writers aren't able to do (myself included): keep the story going to completion!

You might try to forget about this thread until it is finished. I know I didn't leave it alone long enough.
Worst part of all this starting a decent read only to discover it was not finished and now is abandoned and lost.
Every one knows life happens and wife with baby is so much higher in priority.

Just wanted to apologize

WHAT!!! there ain't nothing that you done that needs apologizing hgrisso, you've written us a super zombie story and have kept us all on the edge of our seats. thanks for the story and keep it coming please.

I found this story yesterday--- now I need more. Understand the whole baby thing, the wife & I have five. Looking forward to the next installment.

The only thing that hasn't set right was the silenced .308. I could be mistaken, its happened before.

Triphammer, if you mean the ability to silence a .308 rest assured it is possible. My boss had one for hunting Axis deer on his ranch and it was one of the sweetest things I've ever fired. The silencer was integrated into the barrel, not a can threaded on the end. If that's not what you mean, I must have missed something. I'd have to go back and find it now since it's been a while since I read that part.

cobrian45,
That's exactly what I meant. I didn't think a hypersonic round cuoud be effectivly silenced. Especially a high pressure round like the .308. As I said, I've been wrong before.

Trip,
That's generally true in regards to the bullet crack. I have a feeling he may have special loaded some subsonic ammo. As quiet as the gun and round were, I can't imagine it was all due to the integrated silencer. We weren't shooting long range, mostly culling exotics at night (which is legal before anyone wonders). Even with full loads, it sure cut out the bang of the rifle. We shot without earplugs without a problem. I don't know specifics, it was a long time ago when I was just a cub.

BTW, hrgrisso, outstanding story. I can't wait until we can order your first book. I'm always happy to support THR members.

I'm with Cobrian. I would buy copies of your book for most of my family. Don't you want your new child to have a better life than you? What better way to provide fancy diapers than a best selling novel? I'm just sayin' :)

Great story!

Here's hoping everything goes as planned with the induced labor. I'll bet you and your wife are getting a bit anxious right about now. I'm saying a prayer today for everyone's well-being.

Look forward to the next installment, no matter how long it takes. I'm a patient man.

I understand you are occupied and don't hold it against you, but I need more dangit. Hurry up and get that kid to grow up so you can concentrate on the important things :D

Seriously, I hope all is well

BABY - No Story :)

Hey Everyone just wanted to say thanks for the breather. Liam Grisso was born on the 7th thank you. He's a healthy happy baby boy. He still has his nights messed up with his days but he's such a calm and fun boy (compared to our high maitenence fun girls) that we can't complain.

I've got at least 2 pix of him up on my blog so as a new (again) proud papa take a look! :D

I am back at work as of today, and again just wanted to thank everyone for your patience. I'm working on things again but need some time to get up to speed at work/school etc.

As to buying my first book unless I get a lot of email demands for a printed version I don't think Bite Me will be it. I'll probably get some printed but I'm just happy (will be) to have my first novel done. In regards to future work I've already written the first chapter and outlines for my next two. No they are not sequels or prequals. I've thought about and I don't have it in me to do what King did to the middle of THE STAND and wreck a good story by building a society. I'm just having trouble thinking of new things, key new things AFTER the conclusion of Bite Me.

Should be posting more in a few days, until then take care.
