Nice assortment of barrels. I generally remove the trigger guard because I like the look without it, but on the 6" barrel the trigger guard looks good. Here is my Bond collection.
Top is a 6" 45 Colt/.410 barrel. Second is a 4" 445 Colt/..410 barrel.
Thrid row left is a 327 Fed Mag barrel, left is a 44 Special barrel.
Bottom row is a 357 Mag/38 Spl barrel.View attachment 1172680
What ever works for you. I elected to get the frame with the trigger guard for a bit more protection of the trigger.Nice assortment of barrels. I generally remove the trigger guard because I like the look without it, but on the 6" barrel the trigger guard looks good.
Considering the cost of commercial .30 Carbine ammunition, you'd be better off shooting 3" 000 buck .410 bore loads. You'd still get a satisfying 'KABOOM' but with 5 projectiles per barrel, more bang for the buck (pun intended)I did not realize they had a .30 Carbine barrel, how is that to shoot? I am guessing that has a bit of KABOOM to it..
True but the .30 Carbine barrel is fun to have just because. Many of my Bond barrels are Just because. Mostly I think I would shoot my 4.25" .45 Colt/.410. I now have that plus the following 3" barrels:Considering the cost of commercial .30 Carbine ammunition, you'd be better off shooting 3" 000 buck .410 bore loads. Nice box for the barrels. Homemade? If not, where can I get one?First column, top to bottom: Stinger RL .380, a few barrels, Stinger RS 9mm.
Second Column: Texan, Roughneck with 6" .357 barrel, Mini .45 Colt with Bond Arms ivory grips, Texas Defender .45/.410, Stinger RS .38 Spl.
Third Column: Snake Slayer 3½", Rawhide .22, Roughneck .45 Colt.View attachment 1171891
@Targa already has a .45 / .410 barrel and wants a 45/70 barrel. I was just offering an opinion for the casual observer to this thread who may not have gone down the rabbit hole yet but is considering it. I have nothing against buying stuff because its fun, even if impractical. My biggest problem would be that if I had a barrel for my SSIV in a caliber that I had no other firearm for, I would end up getting the other firearm just because I had ammo for it.True but the .30 Carbine barrel is fun to have just because. .45 ACP
I still want more. I got rid of my 2.5" 9mm when i gave it on the Roughneck frame it came with, to my son. also gave him my 3" .45/./410 barrel and my Rawhide .22. Now I want just more barrels and at the right price about any barrel will do but I am kind of stuck on having all 3" but for my 4.25" 45/410.
The box isn't homemade. It was a leftover box we had at the shop that came with a gun that was traded in. The inside was trash so I used wood furring strips and adhesive backed foam for the dividers.Nice box for the barrels. Homemade? If not, where can I get one?
