Went to the Indy gunshow this weekend looking for something like a Model 60 or 65 Lady Smith :uhoh: or something like a 3" or 4" 19 or 28 but after looking over the entire show, ended up getting a SIG 229. Someone had polished the slide and it was pretty dirty but I got the gun with three factory 10 round mags for $390. Sold the factory mags for $25 each and traded a Boker knife I got for $23 on eBay and $10 for a factory 12 round mag.

$348 for a 229 with a full cap magazine! I was happy.

I was also looking for a used G29 and there was not one to be found... at least not on Saturday... But at someone at the show said, most folks that buy a subcompact 10mm pistol want a subcompact 10mm pistol. Also, when I asked a guy at one of the larger tables about any G29s, he told me to get with the 21st century and get a G33. I told him I didn't want a 9mm. He looked at me like I had just slapped him! :p

your in a trap now

first its one then before you know it you have a bunch.they are that good.i have 5 now and want more.

Congrats, cratz.

I, too, joined the P229 club just recently. Mine is in .40 S&W. Took it to the range and put four boxes of assorted hollowpoints through it. Not a single malfunction. Accuracy is fantastic, and recoil is much less than that of the Kahr K40 Elite it replaced in my collection.

Hope you enjoy yours.

i am thrilled w/ my 229. you'll love yours.

they do try to breed... and they don't require a partner to do it, either. next thing you know, you'll have 'em crawling outta every nook and cranny in your safe/cabinet/closet/whatever.

Actually, this is my third SIG. I bought one of the Blue Line SIG Pros a while back but the wife and I both prefered the G23 so I sold it. And I had a very well used 226 before that.

More than anything, I just couldn't pass up the good deal. :uhoh:
