Bought my first taurus, looking for some information.

I have had good luck with Taurus. Back in my youth I always bought Smith & Wesson, Dan Wesson , and Colt.
It was the Taurus M731 in Total Titanium and the .32 H&R cartridge that drew me to buy a Taurus. I have had a handful of their guns since and no problems. I am confident you will like that M66. That model has a pretty good reputation.

MidRoad - I have a Ruger GP-100 4" that I am reloading 158 gr. JHP and JSP with a near max charge of W296. The GP also has a rather heavy DA pull but the SA has almost "0" creep with a nice, crisp break.
You might try taking the trigger group apart and smear a little "jeweler's rouge" (for polishing jewelry, silver plate, etc.) on the working surfaces. Dry fire numerous times in both DA & SA mode, disassemble again, rinse with water, then isopropyl alcohol to remove the water. Let the parts air dry, oil VERY lightly and reassemble. If the action is still "gritty", REPEAT until it is nearly where you want it to be. Do NOT use the rouge to go "all the way" or you might have to reblue some parts.
Good luck.

Hondo : I don't understand 5 bad Taurus's ? If you bought one and it was bad, then why buy a second one ? and if the second one was also bad, then why buy a third , and on to 4 and 5 ?

I have a Model 66 Stainless in 357 Mag I love. It’s a hoot to shoot and I’m working a deal for a 17HMR to match. Extremely accurate and nice action. It’s at the gunsmith right getting drilled and tapped so I can add a rail for scope or red dot. 3DCF0271-2B0A-4B27-818B-A650E6813D01.jpeg 6DA107D4-1076-47C2-B7C0-07852E05C415.jpeg

I removed when you first posted that gun when you bought it a while back, very cool.

I pray you have much better luck with your Taurus, than I had with the 5 I had.

Really, I've owned maybe 7, 8, maybe more Taurus guns and they all worked fine. I still own my 6" Model 66 and 4" Model 627 revolvers. Nice guns, shoot great.

I was thinking the same thing. A lot of people bash Taurus because they "read" about it on some forum or it's the cool thing to do (I have a buddy that bashes Taurus without him ever firing one). With all this being said I in no way think Taurus is the best guns ever made, the poly SA pistols tend to have a cheap feel to them, but the stainless revolvers are solid.

2, 3 & 4 were not purchased.
They were replacements Taurus sent to replace the first 905B2 (which Taurus couldn't fix.)
#4 isn't even the same model - Taurus didn't wanna replace it again.

I bought gun #1 & 5 (5 is a PT22)
