Bought Pop A Model 10 for Father's Day, how'd I do?

Picked up a S&W 10-2 M&P with box and papers forFather's Day, had normal holseter wear, but no rust...Gun had what I thought were original grips on it, but turns out the gun is a '61 vintage, and the grips were pre-'57 with the diamond on them....gave $185 for it, how'd I do...?

$185 for an early model 10 in that condition with diamond magnas (even if not original) and original box & docs is a steal. You did very well I think your dad will really enjoy his new revolver.

By the way, S&W eliminated the "diamond" around 1968, so the grips could very well be original. If you remove them (carefully), you might find they are serial-numbered to the gun.

The diamond grips lasted into the 60s so they might be original, look on the inside for either a pencil or a stamped serial number.
