Good day to you all. I would really appreciate your help with these bullets. No logic with OAL, they always touch the lands of my Lone Wolf Barrel and don´t allow the gun go into full battery. I even tried them on my stock Glock barrel with no success either.
First, the 452-230-TC, I´ve always heard this bullet to be seated at 1.200" +/- 0.005", but the only way for me to be able to seat it in order for the gun to go into full battery is at 1.185", wich is just at the point where the bullets starts to form the cone.
Second is with the 452-228.1R, the problem is basically the same, only worse for in order for the gun to go into full battery the OAL has to be 1.195", This for a round bullet profile seems to me as it is too deep.
First I had siezed the bullets to .452 and after having the problem I siezed them to .451 thinking this would solve the problem, but obously didn´t.
As additional information, I wanted to load them for use in my G21 and G30. Siezing is done in a Lyman 4500.
The TC bullet dummy loaded fits perfectly in the case gage, The 452-228-1R doesn´t unless it´s OAL is around 1.230".
What can be going on? Is there anywoy to fix this?:banghead:
I was going to load these bullets with W231.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Apparently your Lone Wolf Barrel has a very short leade, designed for normal 230 grain RN-FMJ loads.

Glock barrels have no noticeable leade at all.

I don't know what the 1911 gunsmith situation is there in Central America, but a good 1911 guy would be able to run a throating reamer in your barrel and cut more leade in it to best handle the TC bullets at the correct OAL.

Your only other recourse is to go back to .452" sizing as they should be, and seat them deep enough to chamber.

Start out low on the powder charge and work your way up to where you get good ejection patterns similar to factory loads.

BTW: I have a pair of 1911 National Match guns, and they don't play well with those Lee bullets either due to the short throats/leades in the GI National Match barrels!
They are throated for the best fit with 230 RN-FMJ.
I have to seat them clear back to the beginning of the TC taper to get them to chamber.

Dominus Vobiscum
I haven't seen or heard that since my youth when masses were still in Latin.

As long as the rounds feed fine, it won't matter that you have to load them short to avoid hitting the lands and not going into full battery. If is is a LOT shorter than what is in the load book, then you may have to adjust the powder charge down a tenth, but probably not. It's a nice big case and runs at low pressures anyway.

W-231 is a good choice. :)

Not that I can tell you the exact OAL for a particular Lee bullet, I can tell you the way LEE designs a lot of their bullets require a deeper than expected/usual OAL. I seat the Lee 200 TL SWC's to 1.185", and they function 100% and allow full battery in my GI spec 1911 chamber.

Here is a picture to show how it looks seated next to an H&G 68 clone. I will seat the 68 clone a bit shorter at times, especially when I'm shooting them from my 1911. BTW, 5.3 grains or so will get you pretty much GI spec velocity with WW231 and 230 grain cast bullets from a 1911.
