i reload and hate losing brass. I have a Ruger PC Carbine and I love it. But it throws brass pretty far and not in a steady pattern. Ruger sells a brass catcher for the Carbine that attaches to the rail. But I wonder how it would affect an optic already on the rail. Ruger said no problem, but anybody have any experience with a brass catcher on the Carbine?

If you just shoot from a static position on a range, you can hang up a small tarp to your side. Your brass will all land in one area.

Not looking to do that, and it wouldn’t work anyway. Some go forward and right, like a 45 degree angle, over the bench, some go directly right.

Gloryfire makes a rail attachment version akin to the Caldwell. I don’t have a Ruger carbine but have tried it on several AR rifles and a pistol. The catcher adjusts fore and aft to accommodate most common optics placement.

I've used the Caldwell that does not attach to the rail but uses a Velcro strap. It might work for a PCC, not sure.
I use the same Caldwell brass catcher with velcro for my PCCs and while it requires adjustment and slight bending of bag opening, once properly adjusted, will collect most of spent brass until the weight of brass in bag pulls the bag opening away from the receiver.

When I am shooting from bench with bipod, I unzip the bottom and spent brass collects nicely into a small box/pan.

I have the Caldwell with an extra picatinny mount so I can slide it off the AR-15 and right onto the Ruger Carbine. Works great.
