I have broken shell extractors for all of my rifle calibers except 223 and I'll probably order that one soon. But I started thinking and I've never needed one. Do you have broken shell extractors for your rifles and when was the last time you needed one?

I have a few, not all of my rifle calibers but the main easy ones like .223 and 7.62x51, all the russian calibers.

I've had to use the .223 when a long reload wedged in the chamber, and it worked so-so. Had to eventually fill the barrel with oil, and drop a brass rod down to use hydraulic pressure to get the brass out (good trick, btw).

I've used the 7.62x54r one more often, as those steel cases like to stick in rough or oversized chambers. Worked good on those.

Never have used one..mostly just jam a cleaning brush of a large type caliber that fits the case on a cleaning rod and pull them out.
