Brought home a Bearcat

Just a follow up after a couple more shooting sessions, including one today with a friend of mine.

Last week I installed a 18# hammer spring from Wolff and clipped a coil off the trigger spring. Combine that with the sear work from a few weeks ago and the trigger seems more agreeable. Not target grade, but an indicated 4.9 to 5.0 pounds using the milk jug and digital kitchen scale weighing method.

The biggest change seems to be that the muzzle doesn't jump as hard after the hammer strikes home with the lighter spring.

So far, there have been no light strikes with a variety of CCI, Winchester, Remington, or Aguila ammo.

Ejection with the short stroke rod was surprisingly easy with the nickle plated CCI Stingers and the Winchester Power Point I used today. Some Remington Golden Bullet was less forgiving and required to be plucked out the rest of the way.

My shootin' buddy found it easy to shoot and accurate enough as well. Not as accurate as my Buckmark Camper that came along today by any means, but the little Bearcat sure is plinking accurate and tons of fun.

The best part is, I love shootin' this gun one handed. It's easy to cock without shifting my grip and it takes no effort to empty a cylinder quickly into a tennis ball sized target at 7 to 10 yards.

I'm still happy dancin'. :D

Congratulations on your purchase. I had a couple of bearcats years ago and traded it off. Wish I didn't. I found them to be very shootable and quite accurate, and I have 2xl glove size banana hands.
