Anyone here use Brownells edge? My buddy and I are looking at possibly getting that. You get free two day shipping which is nice but it also mentions extra deals. Does anyone know what those are and if they make it worth it?

I had it initially but let it drop because in my case the two day was more like several days longer. If you buy a lot from them, probably worth it, buy from them occasionally, it is not. I tend to buy stuff across the internet so in the long run it was not worth it to me. I get faster service and shipping from Midwayusa or Midsouth Shooters. Probably try Natchez now that they are shipping to my state.

Don't get me wrong, I like Brownells and they have excellent prices and some great tools and stock but for whatever reason, I get faster order processing and shipping from Midway or Midsouth. I dislike Midway's high shipping price though. Have had excellent luck with Grafs and Sons, DeltaTeamTactical, Primary Arms, Apexgunparts, Numrich, and Top Gun Supply, too. Luckygunner does a good job with ammo. Its been awhile with Aimsurplus but they shipped it fast when I did order from them. Sarco is hit or miss and an order is stuck in their system when they changed over to their new website so I will have to call them, sigh, which is never fun.

If you had a gun related business and purchased significant amounts needed in a specific timeframe, I could totally see how that would be worth it. However, if your are a typical enthusiast looking for a deal, they have so many coupon codes for free shipping, dollar value off certain purchase amount, and percentage off deals if you are just on their email list. I don't think I've ever paid for the free (approx) 5-8 day shipping.

Two day shipping...from the time they process your order. I let my Edge expire. The last order my Geissele handguard came 6 days after I ordered. Two day shipping, but several days to pull and ship, plus a weekend didn’t help. Wholly unacceptable when Amazon gets me stuff in less than 24 hours some times.

that and there’s a free shipping and a 10% coupon at least twice a month. Edge is a total waste as the sales are happening more often.

Sign up for their emails, they have free shipping quite often plus other deals. I often use their free shipping no minimum order even though I live 20 minutes from their store, saves me money by not being able to browse their firearm displays!

I find their website so frustrating I pretty much have given up on them and shop Midway. Was a long time Brownell's customer also.

I myself have been a little disappointed in their item availability. That and their gun selection/pricing is nothing to brag about. I like the company though so I keep shopping there.

Now if they would do a free hazmat sort of deal for edge members, then we’d be talking...

I buy quite a bit there and as far as I am concerned, if I am paying extra for something like that it should save me money if I do enough volume.

In other words, fast shipping doesn’t save me anything. End result is the same whether it gets here now or next week. The extra deals through Edge seem/are non existent if you sign up for the free emails.

Possibly a money grab or maybe it is just for full time gunsmith types who need that extra shipping speed as part of their business. No minimum orders are a good thing in that case.

It concerns me that their actual shipping speeds are so lousy though even for Edge members.

I think they are expensive and do not have a lot of things I’m looking for. If your prices are not competitive then you should have a well-stocked inventory. If I have to shop around then I should reward myself with a lower cost results.
