I only have owned the Mark Vs, never one of the Brownings. I do like the Mark Vs, but I think they are way over-priced. The .300 Wea Mag is no doubt a powerhouse, but the .300 Win Mag is close enough. Why go the extra money on Wea Mag ammo, unless you handload.
I say the Mark Vs are over-priced, based on new price, versus what I see them bring used. Last year, I picked-up a "used", USA-made Fibermark with a Leupold Vari-X 1, 3-9 scope for $700.00. This rifle is literally flawless, came in the original box, papers and all, and with a Leupold scope sold for less than 40% of new price of the rifle alone. At $1,800.00 for a new Fibermark, or $2,400.00 for a new Accu-Mark, I say go with the Browning.
As an alternative, Weatherby now manufactures an Accu-Guard, but when I see those at $1,000 to $1,100.00, and my mind goes immediately to the Winchester Extreme Weather.
Edit to add: Accuracy on the Mark V is guaranteed 1.5" at 100 yards. Mine produces about 1.25" groups with factory ammo. The recoil is tolerable. Considering my multiple neck surgeries that says something. Again, I still say .300 Win Mag, and check the Winchester Extreme Weather before you buy the Browning.
JMHO.
