Hello, all
I have a buck special barrel for the browning auto 5. Do any of you know if the buck special has a special forend? The ring the magazine tube passes through is further forward than my trap barrel, and the forend does not work with the buck special barrel. Specifically, there is not enough slot for the ring, and so it pushes the barrel way back against the spring as though it were recoiling. I have uploaded a photo of the barrels, side by side, and the foreND so you can see the spacial issue I am referring to.

Could it be that the buck barrel is set up to be used with a longer magazine tube for the A5? Numrich lists one for the Magnum receiver, it makes sense that it may be longer than the standard set up.

I just looked again and Numrich lists two different mag tubes, one for regular 2 3/4" and another for 3" models. You might need another mag tube in order to use that slug barrel on your gun.

Looks to me like your Buck Barrel is chambered for 3" shells and as such will only work in a Magnum Twelve. Maybe you can trade it, call Numrich.

Intersting. Now, is that something abother magazine tube can fix, or are there also differences in the receiver?

I don't think there's any difference in the magazine tube. The receivers are different and the barrels won't interchange.

Look at your Buck Barrel, magnum barrels have a movable ejector.
