Hello gentleman,

My father in law recently contacted me because he knows I shoot and am into firearms. I do not know much about non current manufacturer guns before the early 2000s though as I am younger and my taste is of more modern guns mostly (do have a pre b CZ etc though).

One of his wife's recently widowed friends asked him if he wanted to buy her late husband's gun. He wants to offer a fair price both ways and asked me to help value the firearm.

He originally said it was a Beretta cheetah( hand written on box), but I believe it is a Browning BDA based off of the FN marking in the picture he just sent. It also has a frame mounted safety and covered barrel. They said the Beretta had an open barrel like the 92 variants and frame mounted safety

I looked at the serial number and it indicates a 1988 manufacture date if that matters. It is in good condition, probably at least 90% or better based off of the pictures he sent (not great quality) but no major wear. Gun also comes with 3 13 round mags. This is a blue version with black grips

Would anybody be able to tell me what a fair price on this would be?

Appreciate any help!

Try checking through some of the various online gun auction sites (Gunbroker, Armslist, Gunsamerica), to get an idea what the current asking price is. A Browning BDA .380 in excellent condition seems to be starting at around $500 and going up from there. New magazines (Meg-Gar), look to be about $20 each.

Browning (beretta) BDA has slide mounted safety, there was an FN 140 DA beretta made as well.

The current production Cheetah goes for $700-800.(blued,nickel) half that for clean used would be fair.

I paid $425. For my nickel NIB in 2003
