Just bought a Browning BL22 Lever Action and after about 20 rounds the hammer is locked in the fully cocked position. Lever won't return to a fully closed position and trigger won't release hammer. In other words, everything is stuck. Have a scope mounted so had to use a hammer extension (spur) and note on the Browning website that spur is not recommended. Not sure if that could be the problem or not. Just wondering if any of you know how I might get this little gun functioning again. Never had anything quite like this happen with my other lever actions (Henry, Marlin).

If its used its quite possible that it needs to be taken apart and cleaned. I have a BL-22 that I took apart and cleaned and lubed. I took mine apart and sprayed all the gunk and grit out and once I got it back together it was smooth as butter.

I may have a .pdf file that details how to take it apart and put back together. If i find it I'll let you know. The hard part was getting bolt back onto the lever. If you take it apart, take pictures along the way and pay attention to how the bolt goes onto the lever system. The trick was that the bolt goes on in the middle, not the front of the lever system. Also be careful about the extractor and spring that is mounted to the inside of the receiver.
