Anyone have any experience with these yet? I wasn't crazy about the BAR's weight in the magnum calibers, but one of these in .300 WSM looks like exactly what I've been after.

I handled one of those in .270 WSM. The lever throw seemed very stiff when compared to my tuned Marlin 1895CB and 1894. It seemed that the major source of resistence was the hammer/mainspring. Is anybody doing "action" jobs on these -- other than the real stiff lever throw, I really liked the rifle.

Are you asking about the Browning BLR (lever action) or the Browning BAR (Auto-loader)? The Browning BAR Short Trac is their new auto-loader and very nice. Just wish they made it in 325WSM.

Wow, that was an old post you guys replied to! I was actually asking about the BAR ShortTrac, not the BLR. Thanks for catching the typo.

Heh heh...and last month I purchased the BAR ShortTrac in .300WSM. Haven't gotten to shoot it yet but it is a very nice rifle. Trigger's nothing to brag about but I'll get that worked on.
