31BA84CB-B266-4E4E-8D52-5A5E4D49323A.jpeg I’m at the age where I’ve been selling off most of my guns. That said, I didn’t have a .22 pistol. Since we have 5 acres and I can go out my door and shoot any time I want, a .22 seemed like a good idea.

Few months ago the LGS had a Ruger Mk III for way cheap. It sold before I got back to get it. So, I accidentally dropped in to check the aisles the week after Father’s Day. There was a Browning Buckmark there that I had seen, but didn’t have the spare cash to get. Marked at $349. I had $50 from Father’s Day, so I take a good look at it. Marked “used”, still NIB, unfired with both mags, all the original paperwork.

Well,I got $50 cash in my pocket. So I ask the manager if he had any wiggle room. He says “how’s $279?” A brand new $475ish pistol for $279........

So, I shoot it for the first time yesterday. Use Federal Auto Match. First shots were way high and it’s wouldn't eject because it was still so tight. Quick sight adjustment and a little lube got it running slick. I was shooting at about 25-30 yards. Pretty consistently hitting targets smaller than a pill bottle.

Sounds like you did well. I bought a Buckmark Micro a few years back to compliment my Field 5.5 and found the Micro just as accurate. Enjoy the new Buckmark, they are lots of fun.

I thought it looked small in the pics (smaller than mine anyhow). I really like my buckmark pistol. It fails to cycle after about 500 rounds without cleaning, lol. I take it out at least a couple times a month to the range by work.

Have fun with it.

Got a good deal on a nice .22! Like the overall size and profile of the Buckmark Micro. Should make for a fine backyard plinker!

Good job! I've had my Buck Mark for a few years now. It has great sights and trigger and is more accurate than I am. It goes to the range with me almost every time. After my friend shot mine, he bought one for himself.

On my Buck Mark and my friend's, the Allen wrench screws that you take it down with sometimes loosen up. I check them for tightness before every range trip. I should probably just use mild Locktite on them, since I don't take it down very often. I just clean whatever I can clean with the slide open and only fully take it down about once per year. When I do take it down, I do so in a large plastic bag, since there's a spring (I'm pretty sure it's the extractor spring) that can fly out and is hard to find. Mine isn't picky about ammo, except it doesn't like extremely pointy hollowpoints.

I've considered getting the micro (4") barrel for my Camper model.

Really, the only reason I haven't is that I don't want to spend the $70 with out knowing how much better I'd like the balance of it.
