A few questions

1) I've seen some ar-15 stripped receivers at some places (like this one http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=917223 ) and was wondering, are ar-15's something that you can put together easily? (As opposed to an ak-47 which requires welding and rivveting, which I don't have the tools for.)

2) Can you make an ar-pistol from these stripped lower receivers? If not, what if I made one from those 80% receiver kits (the kit says it requires drilling and tapping, I can handle that)?

3) Can you have a pistol with a 16+ inch barrel and no stock? If so, is there a minimum overall length?

thanks

1) Yes, bulding an AR receiver is fairly easy. www.ar15.com has a build it yourself section with pictures if you want to see the process.

2) You can turn a lower receiver into a handgun if it has never been assembled into a rifle. The easiest way to do this is:

-Buy a new stripped lower from a manufacturer that will provide a certificate that states that it has never been assembled into a firearm. (Stag Arms and CMMG will do this for you at no cost. The Certificate is for your FFL's peace of mind)
-When the lower is transfered to you, on the 4473 list it as a handgun.
-get a copy of the 4473 and put it in a safe place with the manufacturers certificate.
-Assemble lower into a handgun.

3) No minimum length requirement for an AR15 handgun, and you can put as long of a barrel as you want on it.
