C&R license-worth it?

I like be able to buy older firearms and having them shipped to my home. It is nice to have but it you ever do not renew it, you have to send the atf a list of what you have bought in your c&r. That is the only down side i see. In my state, having a concealed carry license only filling out the transfer from and it does not have to be called in for the background check. I have found that to be a great asset.

No requirement for you to turn in a list of purchases. You may be referring to your Bound Book, but you do not turn that in when you let your 03FFL lapse.
On the renewal application, it says if you let this license laps, you have to send in the records of what you have purchased on this license. I don't think I misread that. If I have and wrong. That would be a great relief to me. I don't like the idea of being in their radar or having any records of what I own.

Yeah, the renewal app is not completely accurate. It instructs you to return your records to them within 30 days of the discontinuance of your business. It also has a section asking for the hours of operation of your business.

Problem is: this is an 03FFL which specifically precludes using the license for the operation a business. ;)

Upon renewal, leave the Hours of Operation blank and when you decide to let it lapse, keep your Bound Book for your own use.

The renewal application is the same for 01's, which is the reason for the business questions.
I have always suspected that but had no hard evidence. :)

You'd think (I would, at least) that with all of the extensive (automated) customization of these renewal forms that it would be easy for them to include "line-out"s of such inapplicable sections/references.

As I recall, there are multiple sections, with instructions for each section, including instructions to answer or to NOT answer sections related to the type of FFL being renewed

I didnt say they were modified, I said there are instructions pertaining to which sections/questions to answer, and which to not answer.

Its been 3 almost 4 weeks since I last looked at the form prior to my submition, but I am pretty certian the form instructions say to skip the hours section as they do not apply.

Been looking for a copy of the form online and have had zero luck thus far.

<sigh> A "business" renewal form that has such instructions added for the benefit of the 03FFL licensee has been "modified" for the 03FFL licensee.

I read thru my most recent renewal form prior to my last response.

I have bought several items from the auction houses...both rock island and morphy....both are fantastic to work with.

Most surplus guns on sale now are not old enough to qualify. By the time they are 50 years old and qualify, they will be sold out/gone. I have purchased about one of everything I want on my #3 license and one of everything I could afford on my dealers license.
The #3 license is still worth it as something old might pop up any day..
