CA: When does the 30 day clock start?

As I understand it, in CA I must wait 30 days in between gun purchases (does not apply to PPT).

When does the clock start? When FFL submits DROS? I'm assuming that these are calendar days, and not 30 business days.

I've got a few guns that I am looking at buying; a couple are auctions. Got another on order from an out-of-state Wild'stheman dealer.

How do I deal with two (or more) guns being sent to my FFL if there is not 30 days between? FFL just sits on one or more for me and just feeds one to me every 30 days?

30 days DROS to DROS.
Just check with your FFL ahead of time to make sure he is OK with storing your firearms for 30/60/90 days.

Gun can be transferred 30 days after initiation of the last DROS. I'm looking at an email from my FFL stating such.

And your dealer shouldn't have a problem storing your firearms.

The 30 day period is just for handguns, not long guns. 10 day waiting period still applies though.

Nope, not true.

The 30 day wait does not apply to handguns purchased as "private party sale". The DROS is filled out with the buyers info on the top half and the sellers info on the bottom half and the buyer takes possession 10 days later.

The 10 day and 30 day wait clock starts based on the time recorded in the top right corner of the DROS.

Assuming neither one of is an FFL:

Let's say you want to buy a handgun from me; we meet at an FFL to do the DROS, etc.

This sale does not "count" as applying to the 30 day rule.

Just reading about this kind of 30 day wait stuff coupled with all the other california BS makes me sick. Literally. I get an ache in my heart and wonder how a place in the United States of America could have strayed so far from the path of freedom. What's worse is I wonder how the people that live there can tolerate it.

As California goes so goes the nation - it is said. Are we all doomed to this fate?

I just got off the phone with my FFL and if I am transferring a gun in from out of state, even if its from another individual, that does not count as a private party transfer.

Both people must be physically present in order for it to be private party.

Didn't ask about in-state transfers; i.e; from L.A. to S.F.

I don't see why that wouldn't be a private party.
