California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley ended five months of speculation and announced Friday that he was decertifying all electronic touch-screen voting machines in the state due to security concerns and lack of voter confidence.

He also said that he was passing along evidence to the state's attorney general to bring criminal and civil charges against voting-machine-maker Diebold Election Systems for fraud.

Complete story at http://www.wired.com/news/evote/0,2645,63298,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_2.

Didn't see any mention of him in the story, but looks like Jim March is making a difference in CA.

Hmmmmm. California, upcoming Election in November... do I see "hanging chads" in the near future gracing a headline or two in the Golden State?

Here's the main effect I had - taking this guy's declaration:

Bits of this document appeared in the Oakland Tribune but...the whole thing has a lot more impact than the pieces.

There's a LOT more going on I can't discuss yet. Should be public this week, and y'all will laugh yourselves silly.

Not that the votes in the PRK are expected to be close enough for any sort of recount shenanigans, but...

IIRC, by CA law, a puch-card ballot is considered 'punched' of two or more corners are broken (ie, if the chand can swing like a little door, it counts). So no "dimpled chad" BS like in FL.
