Yeah I don't see an "wishful" thinking there. :thumbup:

They were pretty common in my area in the 80's and 90's but then the state extended the "no rifle zone" for deer hunting, and I didn't see so many of any of the Remington rifles after that.
I remember "de-coppering" a bunch of them, 700;s, and 742's over the years that I worked part-time at a gun shop. They really benefited from a good removal of copper deposits from the barrel. ;)

I still like the pump rifles. I have a 7600 Carbine in 30-06 that sees unfortunately light use each year.
 
I just applied for a deer permit again...…….I'll be 77 when season rolls around!

On June 9, 2019 I had been retired for 20 years and the past 20 years have been the best years of my life. It gave me the opportunity to work for myself instead of someone else, to spent more time with my wife and to hunt, fish and camp more. What a great life it is and I wish the best to you. Good luck with the deer season.
