Wanting to see if anyone has one of these Canik's and if theirs shoots really high. I have had 2 other buddies shoot this gun confirm that i was stupid. It shoots about 6" high at 10 yds... New out of the box. Thinking of obviously changing out the sights. I have many Glocks, Kimbers, S&W and so on and have never seen this before. Thanks for any input.

What type of hold are you using? Have you tried shooting it at 25 yards? Many pistols are set up for a 6:00 hold.

Thanks for replying. I haven't tried at 25 yds. I shoot my glocks at 10 yds typically with a 6:00 hold....with this canik i had to use dead on hold and actually cover a little more than normal with dead on hold. It's really strange. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Try a 6:00 hold.

I messed up...shoots 6" low at 10yds using 6:00 hold. If i use dead on hold i still have to aim about 2" higher that normal to hit intended area..just read my first post again and messed up. I guess all this rain up here in the Carolinas is messing with my thinking.

That's ok. It happens to all of us.

How many different types of ammo have you tried?
Tried 3. All about the same. Just shoots low. I am gonna get all my measurements and i guess go on Dawson's website and put in the numbers to see what their sight calc says. Like i said 2 or 3 others have shot this same gun and same thing with them....shoots LOW. Scratching my head as u wouldn't think out if the box it should be that bad.

I have a Canik 55 9mm that shoots about 4-5" low at 15 yards with 115 grain. It does a little better with 124. I haven't tried 147. I'm looking to sell mine rather than mess with it.

Not horribly unusual from what I've read. I've got a tp9sfx on order, gonna run a dot, but I'll see how that shoots with irons first.
Also from what I've read, canik will take care of it if you contact them.

I don't know about Canik, but most makers offer different height front and/or rear sights to tune the POI to suite users' desires. I'd contact the manufacturer and see if they can't set you up. If not there may be aftermarket sights available.

I tend to fit my range guns with adjustable sights for this reason. I reload and am going to shoot about anything that's safe at one point or another.

Seems typical from a lot of reports. I had one that shot six inches low and three inches to the left with a 6:00 hold.

At least the new ones seem to have more sight options

I have the full size TP9SF but can tell you with my 124g handloads to NATO spec that it is maybe 1/2" high using a center hold at 10 yards. Perfect for me! Hope that helps.

I have the Canik TP9SFx and have had no issue with POA/POI. You probably already thought of this, but you might want to check your rear sight plate and make sure it's seated properly and the screws are tight. I purchased mine with a Vortex Venom 6 moa red dot in a package. I found that I wasn't a fan of the red dot on the pistol (I love my 3 moa Vemom on my Scorpion carbine) so I've went back to the iron sights. Even after removing the rear sight plate and putting it back on, I haven't had any accuracy issues. Good luck!

The elites dont come with mounting plates, they use a standard dovetail. Thats a good tip tho.

Im kinda wondering if some of the euro guns arnt built to use that style of sight picture. Ive had 3 eaas and all of them shot "low" with 115s, which put the bullets pretty much right under the blade of the front sight. Hot 147s hit above the front sight, but not a lot.
