Also posted in General Handgun Forum, sorry for the duplicate, unsure of the best place to post:
When I am dressed in business casual, I wear my Glock 26 in a CompTac CTAC IWB holster, with my shirt tucked in. You cannot see the weapon at all (barring brain-farts on my part). However, I am having issues concealing the extra magazine (it is on a belt clip). Two questions: 1. Is it illegal to have the extra mags showing (I am in Florida)? 2. Any thoughts on how to conceal it? Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any reason why it would be illegal to have a mag visible, but I don't live in FL either. So I can't be much help there.

I usually keep mine in my back pocket, but what I carry uses single stack mags.

I have seen IWB mag carriers though, they might be something you could try. I dunno about tuckable ones, but you could probably work around that. Here's a couple of examples I found in a quick yahoo search. I've never used any of em, but you might see something you like.

Those might not be anything you're lookin for... Hope it gives you some ideas though.

I use a nylon knife pouch on the opposite side as my holster to hide my spare mag in plain sight. With the velcro flap closed, it completely covers the magazine and looks like I'm carrying a pocket knife. Now, I carry a 1911 so I use a single stack 8 round mag that's thinner than your Glock double stack mag. You could also use the same idea with a cell phone, pager or PDA pouch.

Are you wearing a jacket as part of "business casual"? I would be, if possible. That way, I have all the "concealability" in the world working for me. If not, I would put the extra mag in a pocket.

As a matter of fact, getting my haircut today, I was asked to remove my vest....the hairdresser did not want to get hair on my vest. Luckily, I had removed my 1911 just before going inside knowing that in a salon [read: barber shop] people are going to shed clothing. I kept the pocket pistol.
All went well.

Stick around THR, you never know what intel you will pick up!

Try Gary Brommeland. A couple of weeks ago, a member posted (either in this forum or 1911forum.com) a pocket mag pouch Gary made for him. It held the mag at an angle in the pocket to keep it accessable and not let it loll around. But the poster said it was comfy seated or standing. Kept the mag clean, and at the same angle for consistandt retreval. But it (the pouch) would release mag and stay in the pocket. I'll look back in the posts and see if I can find it. It is not a standard item pictured on his website, but you could give him a call. http://brommelandgunleather.com

I have used several things to conceal extra mags. I carried two 8 round 1911 45 ACP mags in a Marchon hard eyeglass case. I also used a soft eyeglass case with a clip on a belt loop. I used a belt slide camera case to conceal a J frame and speedloaders. I have used a number of everyday objects to carry extra BUGs and HOs and extra ammo. Use your imagination.

There are two different ways I do this.

1. I bought a cheap knife pouch and cut the top off. I put the magazine in cartridges down and put it in my off-side pocket. Accessible and fast, but protects the mag from pocket lint.

2. Blackie Collins make a black nylon pouch with a flap that you can carry vertically or horizontally. Horizontally conceals very well, or if carried openly I think most folks would assume it's a knife or cell phone or multi-tool.
