So I trim my 223 LC once fired cartridges to 1.750. Then I deburr and chamfer with my Wilson tool in a drill. Lo and behold all the carts now measure 1.752. Previously I deburred and chamfered by hand, not using the drill connector, and no change.

Any ideas on why?

That makes sense.. Just did 15 Frontier 5.56 and same result. Will try to go slower.
My Wilson trimmer if we are discussing the same tool is operated by hand rather then power, I haven’t noticed any growth although it’s I suppose possible.
on the other hand I rarely need to trim cases, perhaps once every 10 - 12 firings maybe more.

I trim the case length with the Wilson trimmer (a small lathe) using a Wilson attachment that enables me to use a small drill to power "the lathe.". This works perfectly in trimming to 1.750.
Then I bought a Wilson attachment that lets the Wilson torpedo slide into it. It then is powered by a small drill. This process (chamfering and deburring) is separate and away from the "lathe." Here is where the cartridge grows to 1.752.

I think that Blue is on to the reason, doing the deburring and chamfering to fast and free hand with the small drill.

Got to be the calipers or the "measurer." Not possible to grow them cases by deburring and chamfering. Not likely to have a case mouth not square and measure every one of them first on the "short" side and then on the "long" side.

MRAWESOME- Nope on the calipers $200 Mitituyos and not knockoffs.

Beretta- Could be... but I measured over 50 of them, before and after, with the same noted and consistent observation.

I going with Walk's theory, that I BUTCHERED the case mouth with too much chamfer and deburring with the drill.

If that don't stop it I will go back to hand deburring. Gnarled fingers and all.

lol, I know that feeling, just run the speed slow and barely touch them. I do .223 with my RCBS deburring tool chucked up in my little hobby lathe running slow and just barely touch them for a split second. Works well. Then I usually tumble them again for a short time.

Roger that

This whole thing is odd, .002 growth just from trimming, chamfer and deburring..

Jim-- The carts are perfect 1.750 after trimming them on my Wilson bench trimmer..

The increase happens after with the deburring and chamfering tool.. this is a completely separate process with small drill and Wilson "torpedo" fastened into Wilson holder. This all started with my acquisition for Christmas of the holder that allows the trimmer to be inserted into the small drill. I do not think that the .002 means anything but that it just struck me as strange.

Here are the three parts I am describing-
