i should be putting in for my permit in a few weeks in Delaware co. new york. im looking for a ccw pistol im a big fan of the Springfield guns and now that they just came out with the xds.2. that is what im thinking of this pistol is perfect. most likely be a 9mm but im not recoil shy. the sig p365 looked great but think they are still having trouble with them. just like to here your ideas on the ccw guns. i am a big guy but most times where shorts and normal shirts this may make it harder to ccw them. i also like the little rugers to if anyone can chin in on then. thanks
troy..

My favorite CCW pistols are the KAHR. I carry a CW45 and a CT380. The CT9 and CT45 are on the radar. They are simple, like a point and shoot camera. Safe as any revolver.

They are not, however, my favorite semi automatic pistol. ( That honor goes to the 1911, but I digress) I am a Ruger fanboi. Never much cared for their semi automatics, except for the MK series 22 and the SR1911. That changed with the American Pistol. I bought the compact Pro version. Took a lot to get used to no safety on what is basically a single action, but I am there. Convinced it is not going to fire unless the trigger is pulled. Built like a tank, it should outlast me and my kids.

The LCPII is BUG to the American. Like it as well. Basically the same as the American except hammer fired.

I am 5'8" and 300 lbs. They all conceal easily.

thanks for the info i like early 1911 like ww1 and 2 style. i liked the ruger security 9 but maybe more size i need for ccw ill look in to the others u list to thanks

The S&W Shield is right up there with the KAHR. It's my second favorite CCW

On a scale of 1 to 5, I rate the Shield 5 1/2 and the KAHR 5 3/4!!! Yeah, I like them!!! I only rate the KAHR slightly better because of lower felt recoil and it just fits my hand a tad better.

ok good to know i need to get my hands on some of these hard to do in ny only 2 lgs here that will let me handle one without the permit in hand.

I'm a larger guy too (frame and hand size, not thickness) and I find the original XDs with the largest blackstrap easy to conceal in the waist band, and easy to shoot.

When I wear heavier clothing I prefer my HK P30SK with the light LEM trigger in a Stealthgear Flex holster.

I'm 6'3" and 340 lbs, I wear an XL glove size.

Here in N. Texas my normal wear is shorts and a button up short sleeve fishing shirt. I carry a LW Commander in .45 ACP. My holster is an Alien Gear IWB.

I've got no problems carrying the larger pistol. It conceals very nicely and fits my hand. I also carry two spare mags.

I'm 6'1 about 215# - have no trouble concealing a 1911, or full size Glock, its about proper holster, cant, clothing.
In summer wearing a "wife beater" rather than t-shirt I mercifully pictured, add loose fitting cover shirt and 1911 disappears. concealed2.jpg

thanks for the image. for years my dad just put his 1911 in his jean pocket when he worked at the gun shop.

and what holster is that and do they make it with the hook to go over the pants and not around the belt.

It is a Fist kydex adjustable cant.
Here is Glock 35 in same type holster.

i like how that sits my only thing is getting in and out of my truck. i have a bench seat im thinking of just putting a hostler intertwine the seal for when im driving and try to keep it out of sight from cop when they come up to the window. there have ben people i worked with here in ny that have had the ops draw on them for just giving them there license and pistol permit.

6'2" 312# Kahr CW45 and CW9. No safety to deal with, revolver like trigger.. I went from fifty years of packing a big bore revolver to the Kahrs. Wife went from 40 years with a light weight 38 to the same guns.

But there are days when I carry a Colt Defender 45 or a S&W Chief Special 45 just for a change of pace.

I guess since we're sharing physical dimensions I should have above. I'm 6'3" and 200 pounds, and wear XL gloves.

I've also been fiddling with the Sig 938. It seems comfortable with flat or the thicker rubber grips to me.

6' 3" 230lbs with XXL hands and I carry this...

It's light, conceals well and being OWB is fairly quick to access. Conceals very well with even a light shirt untucked.

I've carried FS guns in various manners and for me it's just not something I'm willing to deal with on a regular basis. You will figure out what you're willing to deal with too, but it may not happen with your first choice rig.

Another vote for the Kahr CW45. Mine fits me pretty good, but I do have to admit I'm not carrying it regularly because it's a relatively new acquisition and I haven't shot it enough to "rate" it "good to go."

The already-mentioned Shield 9mm seems a real good bet, too. I didn't shoot my friend's when he let me check it out, but it felt real good in hand.

The Ruger SR9 and SR9C would probably be good, hand-filling possibilities, too.

Well, I'm 6' and 240, and regularly carry my 1911 or my PT145. Good holsters make it work well. I have the PT145 on as I type this with a T-shirt over it. (I prefer a cover shirt, but I just ran to the store for sugar so I just went as is.)
I like the CW 45, almost bought one, but went for the PT145 as it holds 10+1 and is no bigger than a Block, er, Glock 30, at @ 1/2 the price.
I like the Shield 9 also, I shot my Dad's and it felt and shot great for me.

thanks its nice with 10 rounds here in ny that all we can have and is why i like a full size in 45. kinda sucks with a double stack 9mm that only holds 10. if i get a full size its going to be a xd m2. i like the gi 1911s to. them a 92s they got now for 279 for just a pinker.
