Safety/Orientation:
If someone would like to attend this event but does not have much shooting experience, please arrive 30 minutes early for an instructional session and extended safety briefing and explanation/demonstration of the course of fire and range commands. A standard safety briefing and description of course of fire will commence at the scheduled start time. Eye and hearing protection must be worn by participants and spectators.

Course of Fire (Round Count = 40)
1.Stage 1 (Offhand): 10 shots at 200 yards in offhand position (standing) in 5 minutes at a NRA SR Target (7” 10-Ring). No further explanation is necessary.
2.Stage 2 (Rapid Fire Seated/Kneeling): 10 shots at 200 yards in a seated or kneeling position in 60 seconds (with a required magazine change) at a NRA SR-42 target (4.56” 10-Ring). This stage requires an unloaded transition from standing to the shooting position (seated or kneeling) upon the “fire” command. Once in position, the shooters may insert their first magazine (2 or 5 rounds, depending on the rifle) and fire their shots. When the first magazine is empty, it is removed and replaced with the second magazine (5 or 8 rounds, depending on the rifle), and the remaining shots are fired.
3.Stage 3 (Rapid Fire Prone): 10 shots at 200 yards in a prone position in 70 seconds (with a required magazine change) at a NRA SR-42 target (4.56” 10-Ring). This stage requires an unloaded transition from standing to the prone position upon the “fire” command. Once in position, the shooters may insert their first magazine (2 or 5 rounds, depending on the rifle) and fire their shots. When the first magazine is empty, it is removed and replaced with the second magazine (5 or 8 rounds, depending on the rifle), and the remaining shots are fired.
4.Stage 4 (Slow Fire Prone): 10 shots at 200 yards in a prone position in 10 minutes at a NRA MR-52 target (3.79” 10-Ring). No transitions or magazine changes are required. Score for this stage will be doubled to compensate for reduced round count.

Equipment:
Rifles: ANY safe and legal centerfire rifle .50 caliber or smaller. Rifle must have a working safety and should be adaptable for rapid reloading as some stages require magazine changes. Singe feed or bolt action is acceptable. Empty chamber indicators must be used and will be available for purchase at the event for $1.00.
Sights: No restrictions.
Shooting supports: Rifles must be fully supported by the shooter. Slings may be utilized; however, bipods, sandbags, or other artificial supports may not be used. Shooting mats and jackets are allowed.

Other notes:
Depending on the number of participants, shooters may be split into different relays. Also, depending on how the event progresses, we may have time for multiple strings. Shooters may be asked to demonstrate competency at reduced range prior to competing at match distance.

Update on the Centerfire Field Matches. With three matches completed, we have some standings to report. Three of the top six scores came from February. Top six scores of all time: Melinda Adams 364x3 (Feb), Mike Abshire 358x1 (Feb), Bradley Settle 349x1 (March), Bob Martin 348x1 (April), Jay Kendell 338x1 (Feb), Brian Roos 329 (March).

Melinda has agreed to call the line on Sunday, May 18, so I finally get to shoot the match:cool:

My guess is I will humiliate all comers and add a new top score for the match. Should be a piece of cake since I will be shooting a borrowed rifle with irons ;)

Of course everybody is welcome to come out and give it a go.
