Hello everyone. Outstanding forum, by the way. I have an ex-Century CETME that I rebuilt into an HK-51 clone using a new JLD reciever. Overall, I'm very pleased with my results. However, during extensive test firing, the hammer spring broke. I called Century first, but they say they've sold all of they're CETME parts. The very knowledgeable lady I talked too knew no more than that. Brownells, RTG parts, and GPC were no help. I realize I could build up a new semi auto fire control box utilizing HK and US parts to eliminate running into this again. I would simply like to find a replacement source for these springs. It is a two legged double coil design, similar to the G-43, AK, AR-15, and many others. Finding one to the exact specs is proving impossible. Also, an HK roller locked rifle uses a captured coil spring design, did the original CETME too? Or was it like Centuries pile of parts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

At one time (years ago) I heard that you could send your spring (whole or parts) to Wolff and they would make a replacement for you. It has been years since I heard that and I don't know the validity of that claim, but it wouldn't hurt to contact them.

Anything from Century is suspect. They have no QC.
Buy an H&K G3 hammer spring from Gunparts. $5.35 plus shipping.

Sunray, thanks for the reply, but as I said before, I'm trying to eliminate the need to convert my fire control box to HK parts (cost reasons). The HK uses a completely different spring.

For Cetmes

The best place to ask is over at Cetmerifles.com. Perro and the gang really know the Cetme inside and out. Unfortunately spare parts for these very interesting guns are becoming hard to get.
