Charles Daly Wants to Hear From You!

Wow, I'm impressed of the age and activity on this thread. Mr. Kassner has really made a good impression for his company. Its a pity about the points system for handgun import. I would love to see some modern 9x18 makarovs. Like the russian Skyph, or perhaps some modern built classic makarov PMs. With 9x18 still being reasonably cheap, I think they would really sell as the surplus ones seemed to have dried up. I saw some pics of a cargo container of Maks and Tokarovs being destroyed in Europe. It nearly made me cry.

I would love to see some modern 9x18 makarovs.
+1. Although a little outdated, the design is still great, the 9x18 cartridge is decent, and there's certainly a lot of demand for them.

Still waiting for that modern 7.62x25, though...

I see no one ever replied to Richbaker's comment about his OM Single Six and Ruger's supposed lifetime service policy...

The Old Model Single Six had a safety recall in order that Ruger could install a transfer bar safety. In original condition, a Single Six would have a hot round under the hammer if loaded with six. They will install the safety in any OMSS that is returned to them for any kind of service. -- It's a liability issue for them.

Ruger has to honor that safety recall for the life of the company. You might not have received free service for any of their other products.

fletcher: Really all I would want to see on a Makarov to see it updated is a side magazine release and better sights. Its a real pity a modern company didn't buy up the Bulgarian Arsenal makarov manufacturing equipment and add a few updates like that to line. The Mak isn't a terribly expensive design. Its so mechanically simple too.
I absolutely agree on the modern 7.62x25. There is a round that should be coming back in style. Imagine a double stack with about 12-15rds of Corbon 7.62x25 pow r ball! Be a 60grain bullet at 1800fps!

I'd really love to see some of modern Russian sidearms, the REX revolver, the GSH series ect ect. I think everyone and their brother has an AK these days, and the experience with russian smallarms is generally positive.

There are plenty of guys who would love to spend money on russian sidearms to compliment their russian carbines.

What about a legitimate producer of the SVD Dragunov in the US, how awesome would it be to get a .308 SVD made by somone who speaks english and is accountable for his workmanship!

Rugerlvr, I know all about the OM Xfer bar conversion program, and I was NOT referring to that. I had a 2nd hand revolver and it needed repairs, not recall work, and Ruger did it for free....
And, ANY OM SA is eligible for the conversion.....not just Single Sixes.

Daly/KBI rifle

I own a Charles Daly .22 bolt rifle made by Zastava. I read that Remington has picked up this line and if parts are needed I'd have to get them from Remington. BUT I can only get them if it is a Remington gun and they won't supply parts to owners of the Daly issued model. Now the gun is a great looker and shooter and hopefully I won't need to repair/replace anything. Please tell me if I can get needed parts from you or have we really been left out in the cold by Daly concerning this rifle?

If your Charles Daly Superior II rimfire rifle made by Zastava ever requires service, rest asssured that Charles Daly will honor their warranty.

Charles Daly

I popped you a PM about the serial number on the CD auto shotgun. Needed to know what scope mount would fit. Never got a reply back:what:

Major props on reaching out to the community through practical means, i.e. THR.
I'm looking at CharlesDaly.com right now to paruse your selection, hopefully I can find something in my price range. Very good to see that customer service is a priority for Charles Daly.

Is there no stainless version of the field 1911?

stolivar, Sorry for the delay in replying. PM sent with info on B-Square mounts for CD semi-autos.

neviander, We used to sell stainless versions in all 3 sizes of our 1911's, but then Armscor decided to stop making them. You may notice that RIA doesn't offer a stainless model either, only nickel plating which not many people want.

Or new line coming out in October will have steel, stainless steel and aluminum/stainless versions.

One catalog company carries your single action revolvers. However, I don't see those single actions on your internet site. Are you still importing those handguns?

Thanks,
Ron

After reading all the posts from Mr. Kassner, I am going out to buy a CD shotgun, something I would not have considered before. Thanks for caring about the customers.

I bought a 20 and a 12 from Wal-Mart and they have been great. A get a couple of snobby looks at the skeet range, but it has not failed me yet. They 20 is especially fun to shoot!

My 106

Hi again guys. the 106 I sent in for repairs was returned to me supposedly fixed. (Jim Said he couldnt find a thing wrong with it actualy). So as soon as I recived it I took it out and went shooting. 200 rounds with no malfunction. Thinking it was fixed I returned it to the safe. Opening day of dove season 25 shells in it started miss firing again..... top barrel showes very little dent in primer. and I have emailed Jim pictures of it there is NO deneying there is a problem with this gun! What the heck it is I dont know....... but now I am getting disgusted with this gun and would like some serious answers and not just, I cant find any thing wrong. I like my guns to shoot and I have 2 others from daly that are impecable, Now I am asking you make this one as good as the other two....

I just stumbled across this post today and wow what a response it has had. I have always wondered why companies dont take advantage of the invaluable costumer feedback from most forums. I think this is a positive step in the right direction for your company. :)

I currently do not own a CD product and honestly have never given them a 2nd glance before.
Seeing this kind of response from the company itself will probably lead me to one of your products in the future.

A few products I would like to see would be are mostly discontinued models.

A carbine model like the old Ruger 45acp or 9mm camp carbines. The camp carbines since discontinued fetch some premium prices at times and are getting rarer to find.
If it could be built to take popular current magazines (S&W 3rd gens come to mind, inexpensive and easy to find) that would be great.

A 1911 style .22LR....

A copy of the S&W .22 "kit guns" Taurus made a decent copy of it for a while before they came out with their newest design model 94.

9mm revolvers in 2 and 3 inch models like S&W had at one time. Used models of those guns fetch some good prices still.

I appologize if this has been answered previously, I just don't have the patience to read through 500 posts.

What is the average turn around on a gun repair.

Provided the the consumer can identify an issue are you willing to ship the part to repair the gun rather than shipping the firearm both ways?

Mr. Kassner,

While I do not own any of the Charles Daly products, I think I am about to based on your messages here in this forum addressing questions and your company's willingness to pay shipping on a product both ways for warranty work.

I DID assist my aunt in purchasing a youth model 20 Gauge Pump shotgun for basic home defense. It was small, light, and handled pretty well. When we took it to the range, it ate all the 20 Gauge ammo I could find for it. Truth be told, I almost offered her some cash for it right there as it was fun to fire.

Thanks again for your interest in customer service here!

A carbine model like the old Ruger 45acp or 9mm camp carbines.

Those were made by Marlin - you're thinking of the Ruger PC4 (9mm & .40 S&W) - and yes, I agree it would be great to have them or something similar on the market again...
