I've been pretty set on buying a G20 right after I get my FAL. However, I just saw that I can't access Lancer's site anymore. They had the best prices on 10mm, as far as I have seen. Is there a place out there that has 10mm ammo for under 10 dollars a box?

If I don't have a steady supply of ammo, I'll put my G20 off for a while and just buy a CZ75 and spend the rest of the money on an old milsurp rifle.

Sounds like you'll have to reload if you want those kinds of prices. Unless you mean $10 for a box of 10.

No, it was 10 bucks for a box of 50. Great prices, a price that sold me on the 10mm. But now it seems like their site isn't working. Maybe it's just down momentarily, but it still makes me wonder.

However, as I've been reading, it seems like their site has been down before. Logical guess is that they are catching up with their orders.

I think that place is going to be the only one that sells ammo that cheap.

10mm is one reason why I'm looking into having to start reloading. But I've been putting it off while shooting good new ammo for $13.00/50. When I get enough brass I'll start reloading.

10mm stuff

Just becareful with trying to save a buck. Places like Double Tap and Georgia Arms are reputable. When I first got biten by the 10mm bug, I bought like $100 worth from some place on line as well as at a show. They were crap. Don't believe the hype, there's a huge difference btwn 10mm and .40 caliber. Also, a lot of retail places are loading 10mm at .40 cal levels. If you don't want to go to the places that I listed, I highly suggest getting into reloading--in the long run, you'll save alot. 2 weekends ago, I sat in my garage and cranked out around 700 rounds of 10mm and 1000 rounds of .357 Magnum. My arm is still sore from pulling that crank but I now have enough to last me a good while.

reloading is the way to go, i have 2k of 10mm i have reloaded and looking for more brass now. i can get 10mm for $16/50 local and getting more at a lower price if i get it buy the case. the brass is what cost me to start but if you can get some at a reasonable price then the rest is not bad. the best part is you can reload from 135gr rounds to 200 gr bullets and adjust vel easy for recoil. god luck on getting ammo for the $10 range for 50 but if you do find some please share the source with me as i would like 1-2k

Might want to check out the 10mmtalk forums too, there were quite a few unhappy lancer customers there. Cheapes big name ammo I know is blazer from natches for 15.39 a box. I've heard good things about georgia arms too. Reloading is the way to go for 10mm though.

I think some of the cheapest ammo i found personally was UMC for $14.50\50 at a gunshow.
Some of the best, oddly, was Mountaineer Custom Cartridge (reloads) I think they were on sale for either $15 or $20 for 50, 180gr XTP at 1200fps.

Now I just use the brass myself :D

I got some Ga Arms stuff that was completely impotent. I have shot .40cal w/ more pop. I shot some DT stuff and that was much better, but $24/box by the time I got it to the door. That is what convinced me to get into reloading (again). I got a Lee Classic Turret press, the auto safety prime and the auto pro powder disc for about $200. I ordered 1000 starline brass and 1000 180gr flat points to boot. I got the powder and primers from a local gun store. I figure that I can shoot the brass 5-6 conservatively if I don't load them nuclear and I plan to lose about 5-10% of the brass at the range. That puts me at $7.50-9.00/box depending on light or heavy bullets. At $8/box, I can make up $200 in no time, by only having to reload 12 boxes.

Its easy, learn how to reload.:)

You'll be reloading soon

Face it, the 10mm is for the reloader since no one else has stepped up for the plinker. Sure, we have DT, Reeds and others, but if you really want to blast, a lot, then you have to reload.

My experience is to be careful with Starline brass. I have had multiples of this brand split on it's second loading. It's first life was from Reed's in the flavors of 155 and 165 grain. 1400fps claims on the 155 grains. All worked fine as delivered, even when reloaded....

But when recovering brass, I have found some of the starline to be split on the side. Not gaping open or a blow hole, just a split on the side, nearly half the length of the case. I don't reload starline anymore. BTW, re-loaded to about 5% below max on those split cases.

The american eagle 10mm plinker (40S&W in a 10mm wrapper) by federal has stood up to max blue dot loadings with 180 grain copper plated bullets. No fouling noticed either. I loaded some new midway brass up to max also with JHPs, those were fun....And loud. Although, the JHPs are much easier to load, that copper plating peels off too easy on the plated cast bullets. Only 400 more to go, then I'm switching to lead or something different, even hardcast lead. I've had good luck with Lasercast in my 45. And yes, I know the speed difference from 45 to 10mm may make a fouling difference also, but at least the lead won't peel off and ruin my reloads.

Hope this helps.

Also, I pay 15.50 for a box of 50 American Eagle 40...err, 10mm loaded as 40, plinking rounds. RNFP, 180 grain, 1000fps, yep, that's the 40 in 10's clothing alright, but the brass is good and all I have to do is find it when I'm done. I own a witness 10mm, not always easy to find your brass.

Lancer has gone bellyup. There stuff was never very good anyway.
This is the place to go for anything 10mm. I am an FN 5.7x28 nut, but I am an even bigger 10mm nut and collector.

Bang for buck Double taps ammo is the way to go. If you read the details you will see Mike sells all his stuff in 50 round boxs making it cheaper then any 20 round box topshelf ammo, and his stuff is better and of higher quality.

PMC10mm is filthy, cheap, under loaded crap. Premium Manure Cartridge
