I have, already 2 M-13 Smith's, a dash one and a no dash, both 4", one blue, one nickle, no locks.
I like 3" guns in general and round butt guns on the right frame/barrel combo. I always thought the FBI configuration M-13 with 3" tube and round butt was a "purposeful" looking revolver. Found this one for more than I wanted to pay, especially for a shooter.
This gun shows bluing wear and a few dings in the metal with very minor surface rust.
There is a fine shiney barrel wth sharp rifling and a very tight in battery lock-up. No crud on the inside, this one was seldom fired. No lock, looks like a 1983 dash 3. Now I have the "pepper" to my M-65 "salt".

That is one of the revolvers I am thinking about picking up for backpacking use in the future. I would be looking for a blue 4"-6" barrel with Square Butt Model 13.

I have a S&W Model 10-5 standard 4" barrel already. Do I have this correct?, the Model 13 is basically a Model 10 only in .357 Magnum instead of .38 Special? The Model 13 has fixed sights were as the Model 19 has adjustable sights? I still have a lot to learn about S&W.

Anyway, good catch with the revovler.
Thanks
Mark
