checkering sets.

im looking to buy a checkering set but on a bit of a budget. ive always thought it was interesting but im looking to pick up a bit of a cheap hobby while i live on base.... a little wood work seemed like a good choice. i cant have firearms in the barracks but i dont see a problem having a rifle stock to work on.


any suggestions for a beginners checkering kit?

Pick a fairly course size, 18 or 20 LPI, as it will be much easier to learn if the lines are far enough apart to see them!

Brownells sells a great little booklet on checkering for around $6 or $7. I forget the name but you will see it on there. maybe gwet that first then order checkering tools.
