I do alot of shooting with old milsurp rifles and ammo. Rifles chambered in 8mm Mauser with 198gr surplus ammo beat the hell out of my cheek. Those with straight wrist stocks being the worst. Can anyone recommend a decent removable cheek pad? Last week I had a decent bruise from firing about 50rds. I would like to be able to use it on multiple rifles.

Midwayusa has a bunch, two basic types are the foam type with adhesive like Kickeezz or the strapped on types. There is also a lace on one leather replica of the one used for the 1903 that works for some other military rifles as well. Try maybe sarco or numrich for that. There are also a lot of cheapie strap types of cheek pads on Amazon or Ebay.

I have the Beartooth comb riser on a couple of Ruger 10/22, a scoped AK, and a Ruger pistol caliber carbine. They work quite well and look pretty good. The foam pad can shift a bit beneath the neoprene sleeve. I use double-sided clear 3M tape to keep the foam in position. A couple of strips on the top of the stock comb between the stock and the foam keeps it in place and won't hurt the stock. If more than one foam pad is used, I use the double sticky tape between the foam pieces.
