Cheek riser

I use those too.....not that particularly one i dont think, i dont recognize the hardware, but the basic thru bolt adjustable comb kits. I have one sitting on my bench right now waiting to be needed lol.

They arnt the most attractive things in existence, tho you can always trim and shape the to be more appealing to you. Other than that they do exactly what they are supposed to for not alot of cash.

I've used many similar Kydex risers. My biggest issue has been that many of them do not have an asymmetric profile, meaning that they move the cheekweld off bore center. That doesn't work well for me when I'm looking for no cast (prone work) to right cast (offhand snap shooting) in my stock.

Get a heat gun, and give it a tweak.

I'd never do that on a wood stock, couldn't make myself drill the holes.
I made a leather one several years ago for my M1A, it wraps around the buttstock and laces in place. It's padded with moleskin to protect the stock from scuffing and uses the rear sling swivel to keep it from moving.

I use the strap ons for my M14s. I just can't get past drilling my GI stocks. Yeah I know it's not the end of the world and I have other GI stocks in the closet...Bolt guns are mostly hunting rigs with low or med rings and no riser necessary...

I thought about making a leather one for my reproduction rolling block but after some internet snooping I found a nice one for little more than I would have to pay for the materials. It works great---after I made a strap to keep it from sliding forward on the stock. Poor cheek weld = poor shooting.
