I just tried to go to the Cimarron Firearms website, and keep getting redirected to a placeholder site. This happens whether I directly type in the address or follow a link in Google?

Is Cimarron having business problems? Did they just forget to renew their domain name?

I was under the impression that Texas Jacks WAS Cimarron and that all Cimarron did was import incomplete Uberti's and refinish them, or Uberti was doing custom builds for Cimarron.

Maybe thats not correct, but that was always my understanding of their connection.

Cimarron had their own separate, quite well executed, web site which showed all of their products.

I just checked out the Texas Jack's website. While it does somewhat resemble the actual Cimarron website, it's very much simplified and some of the models/calibers seem to be missing, like the Model 92 in .44 Magnum.

A WHOIS says, "Record expires on 03-Jan-2011." Seems like someone was likely just asleep at the wheel.

That's the obvious explanation.

Of course if they were going out of business, there wouldn't be much point in renewing the domain either.

They are both in Fredericksburg, TX. Their physical locations are 7 minutes from each other.

Texas Jacks is in town in the downtown shopping area and the retail store is full of Cimarron guns, the Cimarron address is a warehouse on the edge of town.

Jack Harvey is president of Cimarron firearms. Texas Jacks........ Jack Harvey..... That's why I have always assumed they were the same.

Hmm, I have riding down to Fredricksburg every year on my motorcycle to ride around the Hill Country with a bunch of Texas folks and never even noticed a gun shop in town. I guess I will have to check them out when I am there this April. :)

I just ran Texas Jack through Google Maps and it isnt very far from where we stay there in Fredricksburg. I do believe I will be stopping by there. Thanks for pointing them out.

most likely a server went down somewhere. No real big hubbub at all. any rumors of cimarron going defunct would have been picked up in the cowboy shooting magazines months ago.

Lets hope its just a server issue,
I ordered a Teddy Roosevelt Silver Plated- Engraved 45LC back in November knowing there custom made, and it should be ready in early
January thru my local ffl and put $500 down, now the website is gone,
Time to make some calls tomorrow morning!

Mike Harvey runs Cimarron, a firearms importer.
Texas Jack's is a retail establishment also run by Mike under his SASS Texas Jack alias.
Cimarron doesn't do much of its own gun work, if any at the moment. They've contracted out at various times over the years for some work locally, done a little bit in-house, but most models imported are "as-is" from their Italian makers.

The Texas Jack's store carries Cimarron-imported firearms for direct sale to the public as an FFL, along with a bunch of non-gun merchandise.
Cimarron does not sell direct to the public.

Two different businesses run by Mike Harvey.

Luckily, I am from TN just visiting the fine state of Texas, so walking out the door with anything too expensive wont happen. Thankfully, as the wife probably wouldnt like that showing up on her credit card. LOL

the domain is working again. it looks like it was renewed for ten years (2021). good idea.
