I have been carrying my S&W 642 for about the past year in a IWB leather holster with belt clip. It has not been very comfortable considering the small size and light weight. I love my Kahr but hate the idea of carrying it in a belt holster. I don't do belt holsters for CCW. I take off and put on guns too often to mess with belt hoslters, it has to be a clip on or a paddle for me to actually use it. I know belt holster hold the gun better and can be more comfortable but they are hard to conceal and are a pain in the a$$ to wear since you can not just grab your gun and stuff it in your pants like a clip or paddle. The down side of the holster is, it adds bulk. For IWB, you want as little bulk as possible, thinner is more improtant than light weight.

So I got a Clipdraw which is just a stick on metal clip that attaches to your pants and is held in place by double sided tape. It is Not your everyday tape, it is 3M VHB tape, VHB stands for very, high bond. I have come to trust 3M when they call something very high bond. I was not surprised when I found out that the tape actually works. It holds it in place just fine so there is no worry there. The only downside to the Clipdraw is sometimes the gun will ride up past the clip and it could come off. It has rode up on me but not enough to come out yet. It is just a more secure way of doing the Mexican Carry and if you look at it like that, you will be happy. It doesn't replace a real holster but it also doesn't add any bulk to your outline. It is probably the best way to conceal a handgun that I have seen.

Anyway, the point of the story is, I can carry me Kahr K-9 with Clipdraw with more comfort than my S&W 642 with leather IWB clip holster. It is thinner and that is what really matters in IWB carry.

If you are looking for an ultra slim way to carry a pistol, this may work for you as long as you are comfortable with an improved Mexican style carry. I am so I am happy with it. Now that I have the 5 extra pieces of tape, I am thinking of making a Clipdraw of my own. It seems so simple that all you need is a drill and tap and you can make one in any style to custom fit any handgun you want.

The same description you gave works for my Colt Compact .45 also. The Universal ClipDraw is highly functional.

If you put the clipdraw over the waistline of your pants and then your belt over the clip, it will not ride up as the belt will hold it in place.
At least that works for me.

Its a neat idea but still prefer leather IWB's. Thin thin holsters are out there and are more stable IMO than the clipdraw....admittedly I havent tried it with a Kahr. The snub carried IWB is quite bulky as it puts the pressure from the cylinder directly under the belt line most of the time.
But Im a holster maker........what do I know? :D
Shoot well.
