Well, last weekend our club had it's championship shoot. They made it a bit different this year with 100 skeet, 100 trap, and 100 sporting clays. In the past it has been 25 of each and the last 25 of your choice. As it was 300 birds they made it for both Saturday and Sunday. Each individual event would get a trophy and the overall best accumulative score would be club champ and get a big trophy and name on the plaque in the clubhouse.

I for once didn't have to work that weekend so was able to shoot. Turnout was poor with only about 15 shooters but it was a beautiful weekend. My sporting clays I shot first and was doing pretty good until the last two stations and I dropped 8 birds leaving me with an 85 score. Just got out of the rhythm and started missing.
I decided to shoot trap next and shot with only one other guy who normally is an excellent trap shooter. I had a 24, 21, 23, and a 25. He started dropping birds badly in round two and it kinda worked on me I think. He would normally of beaten me, but his 86 was one of the poorest scores I had ever seen him shoot.

It was late afternoon by the time I finished trap so decided skeet was for Sunday. Shot a 24, 24, 25, and a 24 for a 97. I didn't figure that would do anything, but ended up being high gun for skeet. I ended up with a total of 275 out of 300, third place. 280 won with a 279 second. 93 on sporting clays, and 97 on trap were the other high scores. If I had only not dropped eight birds on the last two stations of sporting, oh well, there is always next year. IMG_20181006_125218891.jpg

Ours is a simple 100 bird trap event. 50 @ 16, 50 @ handicap. We don't have skeet or sporting. Next Sunday and I have my 1975 TB back from Remington. I have won ten or more annual champs since joining 38 years ago with this old gun.

Nice! High gun at skeet and 3rd over all. Not a bad weekend.

Congrats

Wish we had a skeet field. Really enjoy it at Peoria in the fall combo league.

My resurrected TB and I shot a 95 for a tie for second overall and a fifty straight in the shootoff for second locked in. One of my teammates defended his 96 in a shootout for first overall and another took first in class B..a great day for the River Rats team.
