I am ordering a BB rifle tomorrow, but I am not too sure which rifle to order. I would appreciate some help with my decision. I really like the M4gery 16"bbl, but I am not familiar with "nitrided" bbls, and how well they would hold up for me. I like the 18" model also, but I am a little more fond of the M4gery. This gun would be a weekend plinker, and get some light hunting for yotes and pigs. I hunt a lot but I have carried a 700CDL in .270 Win for the last 25yrs for deer, and I was just looking for a pig/yote gun. You could say this purchase would be more of a HD, SHTF gun, but I doubt I would ever shoot in any matches. I have military time on AR's, but that has been many moons ago ( 81-86) I just sold a Mini-14 Tactical for a little profit and have the cash for a BB rifle plus 3 or 4 mags. I have been a shooter for over 35yrs, but would be considered a noob on the current AR maze. I do know chrome bbls are better and that is about it. I am in Georgia and have great gun-friendly laws.
SO
What is the best choice of the two rifles you boys would recommend with the info I have put up ?

i think the 18 has a 1/7 twist (i think) that would be the only advantage i could see/both would make a good rifle for what you intend to do

I went for the 18"-- mainly due to the full length gas tube, government profile barrel, and full hand guards...and I have not been a big carbine fan (I do have a Stag 2 on layaway though..)...I got it in last week and I love it..We only had the A2 in the Corps (91-97), so my personal preference is the A2 style-- BUT my CMMG is very nice-- I never hd a new rifle, so its almost foreign to have such a nice rife...

My vote is the 18" M4....
