CMP Kimber Model 82 Gov't Target Rifles: Trash or Treasure?

I know hunters who only "practice" from a bench with sandbags and less than 100 rds a year. But then, because they can now and then shoot MOA bench groups, decide they are ready to go shoot a deer offhand at 200 yds and why not use a .223 since everyone knows a .223 in the "right hands" is more than adequate.

Ain't that the truth woof. I see it every year just before deer season, all the hot shots come to the range to sight in their rifles and/or shotguns. All of a sudden our private range is supposed to be open to everyone, even non-members.

Regarding the H&R M12 I agree it is one of the sleepers in the accuracy dept. Cruise over to Gunbroker and see what their asking/getting for them these days. Unreal. I got mine from the CMP, but without sights for $175 in excellant shape. The peep sights would'nt have done me much good anyway because of my old eyes.
