Close as I'll ever get to owning a Randell. I carry mine concealed at times as a back up. Carries a little better than trail master and of course is shaving sharp. Had mine about 7 years now. I own several fixblade cold steel knives and 5" voyager is always cliped to pocket.

Production copy of a classic at a fraction of the cost.

While I don't own the Cold Steel version of the classic Randall (and I dearly love the original; the tightwad in me just won't let me pay THAT much for any knife.... ), I was lucky enough to grab a Blackjack Model 1-7 SH a buncha years ago (before the original owner of Blackjack sold the company and opened Bark River Knives). High-carbon steel blade, classic configuration, AND a subhilt! :D

I've turned down a few offers for that ol' blade, and have no plans to get rid of it. In true Walter Mitty fashion, if SHTF, that's my pre-selected belt knife!

I have to admit, I get a little Walter Mittyish myownself when I wear this thing.

It was a Blackjack 1-7 years ago that got me interested in Randalls in the first place.

Do you know exactly what kind of steel your BJ has?

Not a clue, Thumper; sorry. I only know that if I hone and strop it properly, it's one aof a handful of knives I own that will literally split a human hair!

scbair,

Blackjact was seized by the bank and sold off. Mike Stewart then went to Mables and it's quality and quantity of knives produced went up. He then started Bark River and produces a mighty fine knife over there. The current Blackjack Knives produced by Ken Warner's folks are pretty good also.
