I love this time of year. When it's cold and windy and I can wear a nice jacket without getting too warm.
An N Frame in an OWB holster is a wonderful thing when you don't have to worry about being made.

Oh Jeez!! When did you get that?

Nice!

And yes, it's 1911 time for me again. Wandered around Amarillo on Friday with my 1911 under a jacket. No more hiding the Bersa in shorts for a while :D

^^ Thanks. I've had this one for a while. It's just been locked in the safe all summer. It came with Ahrends grips but I replaced them with the Badger Customs in the pic. The finger grooves help tame this featherweight.

Hmm, shoulder rig, HK .45... mmm....

Of course, that's summer attire for me as well. Some people just can't be helped. :D

Hmm, a 325 is my summer BUG, I try not to carry it as a primary. Big guns all the time, it's easier to compromise on clothes than it is little guns.

yep! all summer I've been carrying a 642 in my pocket or, when I'm slightly less lazy, my 1911 IWB. just picked up a OWB leather holster for the 1911, and have been carrying that with a tucked in t-shirt, untucked, unbuttoned Dickies workshirt, and a coat when I'm outside. OWB is soooo much more comfortable. easier access when driving, too!

What keeps a rimless cartridge like a .45 or 9mm from falling through the drum of a revolver? Does the hole neck down or something?

HV, that's one fine looking 640.

Dang, that's fine.

I'm still leaning towards the 642 for my next one. (Doesn't get THAT cold here, and I want to be able to stick mine in a vest pocket.)

But ... did I mention, dang that's a fine looking 640. ;)

most revolver cyliders on 9mm/45acp guns are chambered like the automatics.
to headspace on the case mouth.the only exception to this was a run of us model of 1917 colts which were bored through those depended on the half moon clips the military 45acps came in to headspace.otherwise the rounds would drop through.

in modern 9mm/45acp revolvers you can usualy load with out moon clips at the cost of easy extraction of spent brass.im sure exceptions to this exist but ive not encountered them.

I love winter, and not just because the colder air just smells cleaner.

I've got "summer" guns, and "winter" guns. The summer guns are smaller to facilitate concealment and finished in something corrosion resistant (P245 in Ilaflon, P7 in NP3, Kimber CDP compact with matte stainless slide). I love 'em, but when winter rolls around, I get to pull out the bigger ordnance in plain blue, since sweat isn't an issue and I usually have a shirt between the gun and my body.

A CZ75B in a pancake holster makes that big jacket just a bit cozier...
