Colt Cobra range report

Nobody told my year-old SP101 that new Rugers are supposed to have light triggers ;) For better or for worse, its trigger pull still measures at "do you even lift, bro."

:D By the new crop meant the LCR's; I should have specified that. Anyway there is some new design thinking going on after a century or so of hefty DA pulls. I suppose if you want heavier pulls in these new guns you could install heavier springs. ;)

Thank you for the review. I plan on picking one of these up in the near future.
It's interesting that they chose the name "Cobra" as this gun is clearly closer to a Detective Special or SFVI than a Cobra. But I suppose the marketing people felt that since, for the most part, cops no longer carry revolvers, Detective Special no longer seems appropriate. That and Cobra makes it a "snake" gun.

I'm pretty sure the marketing people had more input in the matter than the firearms historians. It's a cool name with some sort of continuity with past products. If, as I suspect, the new release is just the start of a series of guns based on it, the brand name thing will probably work something like Cobra, Cobra Magnum, Cobra Featherweight, and so on. Maybe the magnum versions will have Pythonesque ribs like the Diamondbacks.
