Colt LE 6920 what did you think about its preformance? I have seen them priced at $1400 on the internet and saw the post of where WildAlaska sold some for $899. What is a reasonable price for one? I am thinking about buying one but want some feed back on price and preformance. What about a Bushmaster of similiar make?

Thanks,
Brent

I don't know about the other stuff, but performance wise, my 6920 has been flawless.

I'm really not sure.

I know that a buddy has a RRA of the same general specs/dimensions and it has also been flawless, and was cheaper.

You'll definitely pay more than WA's price now. Those were pre-sales for senior members of the site, the market for Colts have definitely driven the price up. Whether or not a Colt is worth it really depends on your intended use. I've read plenty of cases where some LEO's, and other agencies will only use Colts. I have mine, and they're great. I could have bought a Bushmaster for less but decided on the Colt. As of today you'll pay more for all brands of evil black rifles. Check prices at the equipment exchange on ar15.com, it seems to be a good barometer.

Is the price differance worth it, instead of going with a bushmaster of similiar make?

No. IMHO a 6920 isn't worth $200 more than a Bushmaster, and certainly ain't worth $1400.

If I were to get another AR, I'd get a Mega lower, RRA lower parts kit, and LMT upper.

The exterior finish on the Colts I have seen recently is not as good as Bushmaster or LMT. Colts do have mag particle (MP) tested bolts and bolt carriers and proof load tested and MP tested barrels (every barrel).

I understand that Bushmaster only batch tests these parts. I don't know what the spec is for LMT or RRA. Colt uses 4150 steel for their barrels. Some use 4140 (not as durable).

Colt resale value is generally better.

Since I had a 6520 rather than a 6920, maybe I shouldn't chime in, but they're both the 16' 1 in 7 twist chrome lined barrel...
A lot of that $1400 is paying for the pony stamp and the intangible wow factor Colt attributes to a "genuine Colt M4." Performance of mine was not noticably different from the 16 inch Bushmaster I have today.
