Picked up this sweet little Colt Official Police at a gun show a few weeks back. Serial number dates it to 1949. Has been reblued some time in it's past. Shot it last weekend and was very happy with the results.:) If you have one I'd like to see it.

Take care of those grips. They can crack pretty easily if it's had any bumps and bruises. (Micro fractures)

LAR -15
It's a .22 LR. I put 200 rounds of several different brands of ammo through it last week. It likes Remington brass plated HP's the best of the ammo I ran through it. I'm going to shoot the crap out of this one.;) Cheap to shoot and lots of fun.

I have the adjustable sight version, the Trooper .22, and shooting it until it glows is the norm. 300 rounds or more is not unusual. It's just so addictive.
I'd sure like to have an OP to go with mine and won't be letting the next .22 OPs get past me.
One thing, though, Stoney... not to be unappreciative of the excellent photos, but next time, could you lose the S&W thingy?
You know how Colt persons are. We can't help it.

22- rimfire.
I'v been told the same thing by some Colt guys I know, I guess they get brittle as the get older. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry about that, I collect Smith and Colt revolvers. I'll use a shotgun shell next time I do a Colt, yes I know how Colt persons get.;). Think I should post this one on the Colt forum:evil:

Stoney-
You should be able to find a decent set of wood stocks from one of the millions of OPs and Army Specials out there for shooting purposes.
A decent alternative in wood is the Eagle Classic. While rosewood may not be historically right, it can be attractive nonetheless and you won't be fretting about the originals.
Here's that Trooper in its natural environment.

That's a nice looking .22 OP !!

Here's a pic of my Colt Official Police .22 LR. The serial number indicates it shipped in 1937. It has the original wooden grips ("stocks" if one prefers). It is an accurate shooter.
