My local gun shop just got one of these in on consignment. It is unfired in the blue custom shop box with the outer white carton. It comes with all the original papers and two 8 round magazines. The grips are fully checkered rosewood. It also has night sights, ambi-safety and a 3 hole aluminum trigger thats adjustible. Sights are adjustible for windage and elevation. The test target is dated June 20, 1996 and shows one ragged hole of 5 rounds shot from 15 yards. This is one beautiful gun without a mark of any kind.
They are asking $1200 OTD.Is that a good price?? Would appreciate any feedback you can give me on this pistol before I part with my $$$.
Thanks

I would say $1200 is a good price. I paid $1220 for my 45ACP Special Combat earlier this year in hard chrome (01970CM). You will find some variation in the price, and they are sometimes hard to find. Pricing also depends on whether it is the full hard-chrome gun or blue/satin nickel.

I traded into a blue/nickel Special Combat Government late this summer to be my USPSA match gun. It turned out to be an absolutely great gun, perfect running, accurate, with a great trigger. There's nothing to do it in terms of maintenance or upgrades. I just shoot it.
It was valued around that $1200 point, as well. That seems to be the going price these days.
The SCG almost makes me forget that pristine 1976 Gold Cup I sold during a divorce...

Thanks for the info. This one has the royal blue finish. On the outer white box the description reads "Special Combat Carry" but on the gun it says "Special Combat Government". Are they one in the same??
I'm on my way to the gunshop now with cash in hand!

Special Combat Gov. Who siad that?

Here's one.

Rogard, NP3, Kart Bbl, Wilson sight, stippled front strap, Wilson internals, S&A magwell, etc, etc.
