Common Sense is something every one can apply to their life, in order to lessen the chance of being a victim of criminal acts, or a victim of any injury or accident that can and does apply to them as they travel this journey called Life.

Common sense is a very good tool to have in one's tool box of tools in order to make it through life.
It might only be needed for five seconds, five minutes, five hours five days, 5 years, or five decades... this is neat thing about commons sense, as it fits so many situations, for some many length of times.

One can be young, old, male, female, healthy and whole or physically limited.
One does not have to be Pro Gun, and own a gun, or have had training.

One can even be totally against firearms, and against the Second Amendment, and be active in Anti Gun beliefs, and organizations, and still use common sense to keep safe.

Even today, where to many of us feel common sense does not seem to be passed on to kids, or encouraged by education, or governing bodies...
Common sense comes from within a person, many have this tool, even if they feel they don't , or some governing body says they do not need common sense.

If one does not want to be eaten, then do not look like food.

The Predator - Prey relationship has been since the beginning of time, and will continue.
No legislation has ever stopped this relationship, and never will.

Common Sense:

Do not advertise.

-In a loud voice either by accident , or on purpose to get attention to feed your ego, announce you have $500 in your pocket, you need to take to the bank, or cash a check for, or anything.

-Let everyone know in the office, your spouse's expensive gift is in the vehicle in the parking lot.

-Tell everyone in the restuarnt you have a hidden key to the house in a fake rock in the landscape, or hidden in the bird feeder out back.

-Have your Social Security Number as you Driver's License number, and on personal checks.

-Use the numbers on your house as the numbers for your alarm code to enter house.

-Leave valuables in plain view inside your vehicle, no matter where you park it, even in the driveway, carport, or street in front of house.

-Have your mail , newspapers and other deliveries stopped when on vacation

-Have family or trusted neighbors attend to any unexpected deliveries when gone for any length of time.

-Turn off both the cold and hot water to your washing machine if you are going to gone more than 24 hours.

etc.

I strongly suggest folks while out in public, at work, or play pay attention for just one hour, one hour and take note of how much they can learn about others.

Then "case" yourself, and be brutally honest, as to what you learned about yourself, in a one hour time frame, in a public, work or play environment.

I'm not sure I agree with this part, but the rest was excellent.

I think the "GUN FREE ZONE" mentality proves that anti-2A people lack common sense profoundly.

It's also kinda funny you gave one of those examples in particular, because I actually literally heard someone announce today in Target that they had $500.

"Common Sense" was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine in 1776 arguing for the case of autonomy. There is no other legitimate use for mashing these two words together.

You can have a common defense, because it is shared.
You can be a common thief because you are ordinary.

A persons sense however is based on experience, leadership and perception.

There is no such thing as common sense, it does not exist in nature. We have only two responsibilities in this world to love and to learn. If you aren't doing one of those you're wasting time. :)

Common sense is what (should) appeal to the lowest common denominator. Which, arguably, is ever-decreasing. Stupidity knows no bounds.

But it does exist, based solely on experiences EVERY person in their lives has gone through. Being afraid, feeling left out, lonely, tired, etc... all commonalities amongst us.

Ministry Of Ijit

Yes I aware of Paine and the use of "common" and "sense".
Words today have changed context.
Heck I remember when Catch-22 became a part of our language due to the book of the same title.

I know some folks that are "not from around these parts" as we say here in the South.
DamnYankees.
These have turned out all right. Pro-Gun, Active RKBA and all that.

The Parents now...Rabid Antis, Gubmint is gonna take care of you and...

Parents come down to see a tourist attraction, and they were warned of crime, and how to carry themselves.

I know the surviellance cameras are not on 24/7/52, heck to save monies, they do not always record what is going on...

In broad daylight, with criminals all around, he announced he was putting his wife's laptop under the seat along with the good camera.

No surprise, the glass was busted out, laptop and camera taken along with other items.

Camera did not see a thing.

These parents think the UK has it all going well.
No offense to our UK members, you really know how I feel about you folks - still I mentioned this fella should be the head of the Ministry of Ijit here in the USA.

He and the wife don't get "it", there is faint ray of light, that maybe if he had not announced out loud his intentions, and not fiddle farted around letting everyone see what he was doing...

They might not have been hit.

Common sense is not so common - Voltaire
