Hey all. Simple question here. I currently have an MTAC holster for my XD9SC. I now have a new kahr so I am going to be ordering another one. I am trying to decide between....

A) Buy another kydex body, with some new C-clips and swap out the clips and kydex body when I am going to carry the Kahr.

Body $38
C-clips: $10
Total: $48 + shipping

B) Buy a complete other holster for the Kahr. Have a dedicated holster for the XD and one for the kahr

MTAC: $89 total including shipping.

Thoughts? who here has changed out the bodies on these? Is it time consuming to get the holes lined up? My biggest concern for changing bodies is the leather backing is now formed to the XD's shape and my concern is having two different framed guns in the same leather area can could cause issues I guess.

Thoughts? thanks
Joe

The shells are a a nice idea, but when I go out, I don't want to fool with swapping them out. If you lose the allen wrench you're stuck til you replace it.

I vote for 2 holsters if you can afford it.

The Kahr is a nice slim gun. Every mm trimmed off to be as thin as possible.

I'd recommend another holster because swapping shells makes you CCW routine even more of a pain. And the MTAc is a bit thicker than it needs to be. A shame, because you just spent $200 more on that Kahr, compared to other pistols, just to get a slim but good weapon.

Check out the Crossbreed Supertuck. Similar to the Mtac, just as comfy, thinner, nice steel clips. Just needs a little leather treatment to get the squeaks out.... Once I broke mine in, I find the Supertuck perfect for my Pm9 and Minituck for my p380.

When your paying a premium to get smaller, an extra mm or two in holster thickness hurts.

I'd go right up the middle. The Comp-tac spartan isn't as pretty as the MTAC but it works just the same. I would definitely not get the extra shell if there is a chance you will be alternating with any frequency.

I've been carrying a usp compact in an mtac for about a year now.

The leather has broken in to the shape of the gun, and i wouldn't want to mess it up with another gun in the holster

I have one MTAC and change the Kydex out without any issues. I carry my Slim about 90% of the time, but sometimes like to carry the Defender. It's way cheaper to go this route.

If you can afford it, get 2 complete holsters. If you wear it all the time you won't find yourself regretting having a spare.

please check my other posts concerning this holster. I have a kahr pm9 and just discovered a major flaw with the Comptac kydex design..

Of all the tuckable holsters I have tryed I like the Kholster the best. You can modify it with out voiding the warr and the bottom of the holster is open which means I can carry my XD subcompact, XDM and FNX9 which all use the same holster but the leanth is diff.
