Compensated Barrells

Yeah, i wouldn't have done that either. I tend to dislike ported barrels as the pressure from the rounds is usually accentuated by the porting - i fired a ported .40S&W and it turned me off from them totally. Sure, muzzle rise was lessened, but it felt like being punched in the face with the pressure compared to firing my beretta .40 so my perceived recoil was worse - and i kept blinking uncontrollably when i fired, which i've never had a problem with before - usually i can even see the rounds flying downrange once i've put a box downrange. I got powder in my face too. No fun.

If you do any low light firing / training the muzzle flash is directed straight up through the ports and that pretty much does away with your night vision. Looks cool, but not worth the trade off.
