A couple of years ago, my wife bought a CZ P-01 Suppressor Ready model because she liked the color. I wasn't going to say no to a CZ in the family, although the Omega trigger in that model (and others) has a pretty terrible DA pull compared to the standard old CZ 75B DA/SA trigger. Not really sure why CZ decided to introduce a new DA/SA trigger that is *worse!*

But I digress. So, her gun has a threaded barrel, and I don't much plan to get a tax stamp and a suppressor, although I don't know why NOT. Maybe I'll come to my senses next week and do it. In the mean time, I suppose we could hang a compensator on it and spare her a little muzzle rise. My question is: with factory ammo (I reload, but don't really plan to reload 9 mm), will the comp do much more than blast noise back at us? The race gun gang acts like you have to have a 38 Super and lots of slow powder to get "enough gas to work the comp."

Yes, a compensator will work on a 9mm with factory ammo. Depending on how many chambers it has, it might work too well and prevent it from cycling completely. I've shot 9mm with a 3-port Lone Wolf comp and it worked so well with factory ammo it caused stovepipes.

Check out the article below. A single port comp can reduce muzzle rise by around 30%. This probably depends on the size of the port.

excellent ! Well what I would do is get a " piston attachment "for a suppressor type you are thinking about and some have built in "brakes " when not covered with the tube of the suppressor . If you do decide to put a suppressor on your you will need a "decouple device " for your P 01 , it is a "Browning" type design that only works reliably with an extremely light suppressor with out a decoupler . Ask me how I know :{ so choose wisely.
That said my Browning Hi power Practical I have turned into a Target Pistol with the factory single port target weight compensated barrel I bought for it . It really reduces factory ammo recoil. The 9mm is a hot crtridge compared .38 spl pressures. Very close to magnums. Ill look around for you I have a P01.
