I have a new P95 coming, picked it up for a song at my local dealers after the original buyer traded it in unfired :D

This is the safety equipped version, but I had originally been looking for a DAO version (not California approved, BTW). The deal I got was sooo good, however, that I popped for it anyway. :neener:

So, the question here is, can I fit a DAO hammer to this model? Will the safety interfer with the DAO function? I know that last sounds dumb, but I am unsure if Ruger uses different internal parts (sear, drawbar, etc) between the versions.

Just so we are all on the same page, I do NOT have a de-cocker version, and as for the reason, it is simply something I want to try after having owned a few Glocks and Kahrs.

It may be illegal for you to do the conversion!!!
You live in the most communist part of the PRK!!!
Check with local laws first!!!
Mechanically, I'm sure the conversion can be done. However, Ruger may not sell you the necessary parts and finding a smith to do it may be a problem for reasons explained above!!

The rugers I have shot have a double action that is nothing like a glock trigger. They had a very long trigger pull compared to the glock. I can't speak about kahrs but I don't think a DAO trigger on the ruger is going to be like either one. I would personally would leave it alone. Mark

Otony,

Your trigger isn't going to feel like a Glock or Kahr trigger after the mod (assuming it can be done). It will feel just like it does now in DA mode.

Gentlemen,

"it is simply something I want to try after having owned a few Glocks and Kahrs."

I did not compare the trigger pull to a Glock or a Kahr, I just I want to TRY it in DAO.

I rather liked having no transistion from DA to SA with either the Glock or Kahr, which is why I wanted to try a Ruger with no transistion. I know the trigger pulls will not be compareable.

Having owned over 30 plus semi-auto pistols, it is simply something else to screw around with. At present, I have three centerfire pistols, an Kahr, a SIG P225, and the Ruger P95. I am selling the Kahr (NEW, UNFIRED!) as it the second I have owned, and redundant for my needs. The SIG is my designated "go to" pistol, and the Ruger is a beater/companion piece (for my PC9 carbine). Just something different, not PERFECTION, as the magazine covers so often hail.
